Perimeter Security for Glasgow Central Mosque

Security at Places of Worship starts with understanding The site

Every place of worship is different, so the security that works for a small urban church with no private grounds can be very different from what is needed for a large mosque with a car park, perimeter fencing, multiple vehicle entrances and hundreds of people coming and going throughout the week.

Before recommending gates, barriers, CCTV, access control or any other security equipment, we take the time to understand how your site is actually used, where people and vehicles move, what areas need to be controlled, and what kind of security risks you and your community are facing.

We always start with the needs of the site, rather than starting with a product, because the right solution should make your place of worship safer without making it harder for your community to use.

Questions worth Asking When Planning Your Perimeter Security

1. Unauthorised vehicle access
Vehicles entering areas they shouldn't, particularly outside opening hours or during busy events.

2. Uncontrolled pedestrian access
Open entrances, vulnerable access points or areas where people can move around the site without adequate control.

3. Theft and vandalism
Buildings, vehicles, equipment and outdoor areas can all become targets, particularly when the site is unattended.

4. Hate crime and targeted attacks
Places of worship can face additional risks because of their faith community, so security measures may need to consider the possibility of targeted incidents as well as more general crime.

5. Out of hours access
Volunteers, staff, contractors and community groups may all need access at different times, so you need to control who can enter without making access unnecessarily difficult.

6. Vulnerable boundaries and entrances
A secure door doesn't help much if someone can simply walk around the side of the building or enter through an unsecured gate.

7. Poor visibility around the site
Dark car parks, entrances, pathways and secluded areas can make it harder to see what's happening and can create additional security concerns.

8. Security equipment that isn't working properly
A gate that won't close, a camera that isn't recording or an access control system that has stopped working can leave your site vulnerable when you need it most.

Vehicle access
Who can drive onto the site, where can they go once they're inside, and can vehicles enter when they shouldn't? You may need to control access to a car park, restrict certain areas outside opening hours, or manage vehicle movements during busy services and events.

Pedestrian access
Are entrances clearly controlled, and can visitors, volunteers and members of the community move safely around vehicles, gates and other automated equipment?

Perimeter
Could someone simply walk around your existing security measures, climb over a boundary, or gain access through an area that isn't currently protected?

Buildings and entrances
Are there vulnerable doors, gates or other access points that need additional protection, and are different parts of the site being accessed by the right people at the right times?

Out of hours
What happens when nobody is on site? Can authorised people still get in when they need to, while preventing unwanted access when the building and grounds are closed?

Existing equipment
Is your current CCTV, gate, barrier or access control system actually doing what you need it to do, and is it being properly serviced and maintained?

Electric Gates, Barriers and Other Access Control for Places of Worship

Controlling who and what can enter your site is often one of the first layers of effective perimeter security. We design and install electric gates and automatic barriers for churches, mosques, gurdwaras, synagogues, temples and other places of worship, helping manage vehicle access while keeping entry simple for your community, staff, volunteers and authorised visitors.

From a single automated entrance to a larger site with car parks, pedestrian gates, CCTV and access control, we can design the different parts of your security around how your site actually operates.

Electric Gates

Secure the entrance to your grounds while keeping everyday access convenient for authorised users. Electric gates can be integrated with intercoms, access control, vehicle detection and other systems, with safety designed around the movement of both vehicles and pedestrians.

Automatic Barriers

A practical solution for controlling busy car parks and vehicle entrances where you need frequent access throughout the day. Barriers can help prevent unauthorised parking and vehicle access without fully closing off the site.

Access Control

Control who can enter and when, while making access straightforward for staff, volunteers and other authorised users. Options can include keypads, ANPR, fobs and more advanced access control systems.

CCTV

Monitor entrances, car parks, buildings and vulnerable areas around your site, helping you see what's happening and providing a record when an incident occurs.

Perimeter Fencing

Create a clear and secure boundary around your grounds, particularly where existing fences, walls or open areas leave alternative ways into the site.

Servicing & Maintenance

Keep gates, barriers and other security equipment operating safely and reliably through regular inspection, servicing and repairs, with ongoing support available when something goes wrong.

Emergency Call-Outs

Upgrade an existing entrance with intercoms, keypad and fob access, mobile control, pedestrian access and integrated driveway or garden lighting.

What Our Clients Say

Highly professional and superb customer services!

We were not able to be there when the job was done and when we came home the job was completed and they then phoned to tell us what they had done and answered the questions we had and many months later no challenges .

Alexander Quinn

I have used the services of CM for 4 years now and have always found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful when attending.

They didn’t make or fit the gates originally but the company which did were very poor at the after service and totally unreliable.

I am so glad that I found CM and they have during the time have suggested and implemented changes to better the operation of the gates while they are prompt and organised when calling them out.

Brown Ferguson

Great & professional service!
They arrived on time, sorted the fault and carried out the service as agreed.

Fire Scotland

I would highly recommend this company.

Craig himself installed our gate some years ago, and terrible weather on the day didn’t deter him from finishing the job and making sure everything was working perfectly before he left. The whole team at CM gates are professional, friendly and very responsive if any issues arise.

John Brown

Many thanks to Calum for the work done today to get the Bedlormie gate up and running. Its good to know that ‘small customers’ are still much appreciated!

M Thompson

I wouldn’t consider trying elsewhere!

Top marks. Having tried multiple local options for our electric gates which despite this had ongoing problems for years, with multiple call outs & frequent malfunctions…lots of money spent but no one seemed to know how to fix them or what was causing the problems.

However, one visit from CM Gates & Barriers and the problem was sorted completely…totally worth the initial call out fee. Since then I wouldn’t consider trying anywhere else if required. I try to have them visit for an annual maintenance visit now to keep my gates in tip top condition. If you’re having problems with your electric gates, these are the guys to fix them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Nic

Here on top of the hill the weather can be a bit tricky, that said our gates, installed and maintained by CM Gates & Barriers cope really well!

Philip Cox

We’re over the moon with the gate. It’s fantastic!
