Compliant Electric Gates & Perimeter Security for Aberdeen’s Energy & Industrial Sites

CM Gates & Barriers designs, installs and maintains automated gates, barriers, access control and wider perimeter-security systems for commercial and industrial sites across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

Aberdeen has one of Scotland’s most concentrated energy and engineering sectors, with major industrial activity around Altens, East Tullos, Dyce, Westhill and the Port of Aberdeen, as well as significant energy infrastructure further north around Peterhead and St Fergus.

For these environments, an entrance is often a critical part of the wider site-security and operational system. Vehicle movements, staff and contractor access, deliveries, restricted areas, pedestrian segregation, emergency access and equipment reliability all need to be considered together.

With project management, engineering, fabrication, civils, electrical works, automation and servicing managed in-house, we can support anything from a single high-duty entrance to multi-asset perimeter-security requirements across larger operational sites.

What We Consider for Energy, Industrial & High-Security Sites in Aberdeen

Sites across Aberdeen’s energy and industrial sector can place very different demands on entrance equipment compared with a standard commercial property.

Operational energy and process sites may have tighter access procedures, heavier traffic and more demanding security requirements.

We can design gates, barriers, bollards and access-control systems around staff, contractors, deliveries and authorised vehicles, while considering how the entrance needs to integrate with wider site procedures and existing security infrastructure.

Sites around Altens, East Tullos, Dyce and Westhill can experience regular movement from vans, HGVs, service vehicles and specialist equipment.

Gate duty cycle, opening speed, clear opening width, traffic management and long-term reliability become particularly important, and systems may need to combine heavy-duty sliding gates, automatic barriers and controlled pedestrian access. Aberdeen’s industrial demand remains heavily linked to the energy sector, particularly around the Dyce-Westhill-Inverurie corridor and Altens.

Larger industrial sites often need different access permissions for employees, visitors, contractors and deliveries.

ANPR, intercoms, keypads, RFID/fob systems and mobile access can be integrated with gates and barriers to create more controlled entry and exit procedures without unnecessarily slowing normal site operations.

More complex sites may have several entrances and multiple asset types, including sliding gates, traffic barriers, bollards, pedestrian gates, access control and roller shutters.

Rather than treating each asset separately, we can review how the whole perimeter operates and help create a coordinated system that is easier to manage, maintain and support over the long term.

Commercial Gates & Perimeter Security Across Aberdeen

We support businesses, facilities teams, contractors, property managers and managed sites across Aberdeen, Dyce, Westhill, Portlethen, Stonehaven and the wider Aberdeenshire area with secure vehicle and pedestrian access systems.

From industrial sliding gates and automatic barriers to ANPR, bollards, intercoms and access control, we can support individual entrances or wider perimeter-security requirements across more complex sites.

For commercial clients, we can also provide ongoing servicing and maintenance support, helping keep critical entrance equipment safe, reliable and operational over the long term.
