Traffic Bollard

Traffic bollards & vehicle access restrictions

Vehicle bollards are sturdy posts used to control traffic and regulate access to certain areas. They help guide vehicles and protect people, buildings, and property from accidents.

Bollards come in crash-resistant and non-crash-resistant types, and they can be fixed, removable, or retractable, depending on your needs and budget.

At CM Gates & Barriers in West Calder, near Livingston, we've been installing bollards for over 10 years. We understand both vehicle and pedestrian safety and work with our clients to find the best solutions for their needs.

Our traffic & vehicle bollard options

There are various types of security bollards due to their versatility. Here are the most common:

Automatic Bollards

Also known as rising bollards, these retract into and out of the ground based on their control device. They efficiently control traffic in condensed areas or for site-specific applications.

Decorative Bollards

These add visual appeal to buildings and commercial premises and can mark specific areas such as handicapped parking. While not suitable for serious protection, they are highly customizable.

Fixed Bollards

These are permanent fixtures secured to the ground, providing strength and security. Typically made of strong materials like concrete or steel, they are not ideal for cramped spaces like car parks.

Removable and Retractable Bollards

Removable bollards temporarily secure or block off areas and can be placed or removed as needed. Retractable bollards retract into the ground when necessary and can be locked in place or removed for vehicle clearance.

Lighted Bollards

These bollards feature illumination for safety and aesthetics. They are available in various types such as fixed, retractable, embedded, or surface-mounted, offering versatility and enhanced protection.
